Creating the branding for a golf fitness app from scratch

The Client

Become Golf Fit is a multifaceted fitness brand targeted at keen golfers. It comprises a bespoke app and 1-1 training programme for clients ranging from club level to professional golfers who are serious about taking their game to the next level.

This was a new venture from co-founder Marc Brown, for whom we built the Petts Wood Performance gym website.

The Goal

As a new business, Become Golf Fit was in need of a strong brand identity to make an impact with potential clients across a range of touchpoints. This included their app, website, social media, and print marketing materials.

Amber, a phenomenal branding specialist on our graphic design team, met with the client to gain a deep understanding of Become Golf Fit’s values and vision. This included deciding on five keywords they wanted the brand to be associated with.

Empowered by this detail, Amber was able to develop a brand that would resonate with golfing clients.

The Results

Logo
The logo was created using a modern and clean typeface. The choice of a serif typeface is often associated with heritage, and for Become Golf Fit it exudes trust, whilst also visually setting them apart from the competition.

The ‘B’ in the logo is segmented to create a sweeping motion that suggests a golf swing. This ‘B’ can also be utilised as a standalone icon, and is so on the app.

This subtle and simplistic approach was chosen to future-proof the design and allow some of the brand’s key values – trust, honesty, and heritage – to be the main focus.

Colour palette
As it’s used across on and offline marketing channels, creating a distinct and complementary colour palette plays an important part in recognising any brand.

We opted for a natural, neutral, premium theme, with muted versions of colours typically associated with golf. This included heritage and sage greens, sand, and an off-white cream.

Both the logo and colour palette were carefully designed to be incredibly versatile; it works with practically any colour combination, helping to keep the brand fresh over time.

Typography
Consistently using the right typography is crucial for any brand, as it sets the tone and helps to make it more recognisable.

Marlide Display and Stolzl were chosen as they pair perfectly with each other, as well as the newly established brand identity. Having different sets of fonts also ensures the design and layouts do not become repetitive.

Website
Once the branding was signed off, we set about building the website. It includes dedicated service pages for their training programme, private fitness studio, and direct access to download the app.

Become Golf Fit launched in March 2024 and we continue to support Marc in a variety of ways. This includes advising on digital marketing strategy, as well as our signature tailored website hosting and maintenance package.
